How to install P.S. Shelf and what each tab in the sidebar actually does.

Getting started

Installing P.S. Shelf

Add it from the Chrome Web Store

Click "Add to Chrome" on the P.S. Shelf listing, then confirm in the popup that appears.

Pin it to your toolbar (optional but handy)

Click the puzzle-piece icon in Chrome's toolbar, find P.S. Shelf, and click the pin icon next to it so it's always one click away.

Open Pinterest

Go to pinterest.com. Click the P.S. Shelf toolbar icon to open the sidebar — it slides in on the right side of the page.

Connect your Pinterest account (optional)

In the sidebar's ⚙ Settings tab, click "Connect Pinterest" to sync your real boards. You can also just start saving pins locally without connecting anything.

Start saving

Hover any pin on Pinterest — a small "P.S." button and board shortcuts appear. Click to save.

Shelf

Your main feed — every pin you've saved, newest first.

Search across saved pins, notes, and tags at once
Star a pin as a favorite
Edit a pin's note, tags, price, or section
Assign or move a pin to a board
Open the original pin on Pinterest, or remove it from your Shelf

Pins

A cleanup view for your whole saved collection.

Overview stats: total pins saved, duplicates found, pins with no board
Dedicated Duplicates view to spot and remove repeats
Dedicated No Board view for pins you haven't organized yet

Boards

Every board you have, with a real read on how alive it actually is.

Automatic Active / Dormant / Inactive status, based on real save activity
Manually mark any board active or inactive yourself
Set and track a budget per board
View a board's sections
Import your existing Pinterest pins from a board into the Shelf
Create new boards, or group boards together into a Box

Collage

Build a custom moodboard from pins across any of your boards.

Pull pins from one or more boards into a single custom layout
Arrange and export the result

Boxes

A layer above boards, for grouping related ones together.

Group multiple boards under one Box (e.g. a season, project, or theme)
Boxed boards stay out of your main Boards list so it doesn't get cluttered
Export a Box as a PDF or image set

📊

Stats

A visual read on your whole collection.

Board health breakdown — how many boards are active, dormant, or inactive
Budget vs. actual spend across all your priced pins
Save activity over the last 8 weeks
Your top boards by pin count, and top sections

⚙

Settings

Account, plan, and connection management.

Connect or disconnect your Pinterest account
See your current plan (Free or Pro) and what each includes
Activate a Pro license key
See how many devices your license is active on, and deactivate one if needed
Optional Google sign-in for cross-device cloud sync (Pro)
