P.S. Shelf is a browser extension for organizing Pinterest pins. This policy explains what data it handles and where it goes.

What we store locally, by default

Everything you save — pin images, titles, your notes, boards, boxes, collages, prices, and tags — is stored in your browser's local extension storage. By default, none of this leaves your device.

Optional cloud sync

Cloud sync is optional and off by default. If you turn it on in Settings and sign in with your email, your saved pins are sent to our hosted database (Supabase) so you can reach them from another device. Signing in uses a one-time code sent to your email address; we store that email address to identify your account. If you never enable sync, no pin data ever leaves your browser.

Optional AI features

P.S. Shelf includes one optional AI feature: price estimation. If you press the Estimate button while saving a pin, that pin's title, description, and source URL are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to produce a suggested price. Nothing is sent unless you press that button, it runs only on the single pin you're saving, and your notes are never included.

Connecting your Pinterest account

P.S. Shelf can optionally connect to your Pinterest account so you can view, create, delete, and export your own boards from within the extension. This uses Pinterest's official OAuth login — you sign in directly with Pinterest, and P.S. Shelf never sees or stores your Pinterest password.

We request the following Pinterest permissions:

Your Pinterest access token is stored only in your own browser's local extension storage. It is never sent to any server we operate other than the token-exchange step required by Pinterest's own OAuth process, and that step only ever forwards the token itself — not your Pinterest password or any other account data.

P.S. Shelf only acts on the Pinterest account you personally authenticate with. It cannot access, view, or modify any other user's boards or pins. You can disconnect your Pinterest account at any time from Settings, which removes the stored token from your browser immediately.

What we don't do

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We do not use your Pinterest data for anything other than displaying and organizing it for you inside the extension.

Payments and license keys

P.S. Shelf Pro is a paid subscription. Payments are processed by Stripe — we never see or store your card number. Stripe handles your payment details under its own privacy policy.

When you subscribe, we generate a license key and store it, along with your subscription status and the email address you paid with, so the extension can verify that your Pro features are active. That is the only billing information we hold.

Data deletion

You can export your data to CSV, HTML, PDF, or ZIP at any time, and delete any saved pin, board, box, or collage within the extension. Disconnecting Pinterest removes your stored access token. Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data from your browser. If you used cloud sync and want your synced copy deleted from our servers as well, email support@psshelf.app and we will remove it.
